The FE 90mm f2.8 G lens is synonymous with an exquisite bokeh effect that will amaze professional and amateur users of the highest level. The individual calibration of each lens guarantees optimal compensation for spherical distortions, resulting in a smooth finish, without inappropriate blurring.

Maximum sharpness at all distances

Macro lenses stand out, in addition to their ability to capture 1:1 reproductions, for their versatility to be used often in a wide variety of focus distances and situations beyond macro photography. Taking this premise into account, Sony has developed a floating focusing mechanism in this lens that effectively eliminates focus distortions at close range. This system reduces the size of the lens and maintains exceptional sharpness across the entire image area, from infinity to the closest focal length.

Silent, precise and fast AF system

The previously mentioned floating system is based on two innovative components. On the one hand, the system DDSSM (direct drive supersonic wave motor) that excels in the precise positioning of relatively heavy lenses that allow full-frame macro magnification, such as the new Sony FE 90mm f2.8 Macro G OSS. The internal focusing mechanism performs the AF function by only moving internal elements of the lens, without changing the total length of the lens at all. In addition to easier handling, it means that autofocus becomes faster and requires less focusing distance.

Distance range in one click

The focus distance limiter can be set to focus close or far, depending on where the subject is, by limiting the focus distance range and optimizing the autofocus speed.

With focus lock button

By pressing the focus fixation button located on the lens structure, the chosen point is automatically locked and the lens will not change this point until we decide to release the button. This is a very practical function that we will have even when we are using the continuous AF function.
