DJI Ronin 4D the best stabilized camera

The DJI Ronin 4D combines Zenmuse X9 camera with an integrated gimbal 4 axes stabilization, focus type LiDAR and one-unit video transmission and control system.

With the release of its revolutionary product, DJI presents its most powerful camera to date, the creators' own words. Its intelligent imaging system is powered by an internal chipset, the CineCore 3.0, offering a codec 8K RAW. This comes by default with advanced color reproduction, advanced functions from its high-performance AI, thus causing multi-link control that allows processing low latency images.

Technical characteristics and video recording

As we mentioned at the beginning of the article, the DJI Ronin 4D incorporates a Zenmuse X9 gimbal camera full frame, available in both 8K like 6K. The codec par excellence continues to be H.264, making both the X9-8K and the 6K use it to record internally in Apple ProRes and ProRes RAW. It is worth saying that the X9-6K also supports 4K at 120fps. On the other hand, the 8K reaches 75fps with 14 stops of dynamic range, giving a wider range to its cinematic quality.

Like other products explored in Camera equipment, the Ronin 4D also manages to organically overcome the contexts where light can be complicated or not be completely clear. Thanks to its system of Cinema Color (DCCS), the camera offers natural skin tones and achieves stabilize the overall tone even if you work with other cameras on the set. In addition to this, physical ND filters Nine stops help adjust lighting conditions if they change drastically in a fleeting manner.

In order to delete the happy shaky cam, or vertical movements that can emulate this condition, the Ronin 4D incorporates a Z axis which allows it to be converted promptly into a survival steady cam, thus obtaining the necessary plans to advance production. This fluidity is achieved thanks to a new advanced algorithm which processes each input with ToF sensors, dual sensors, Integrated IMU and barometer.

To complete all these features, the Ronin 4D uses the system ActiveTrack Pro which, combined with internal artificial intelligence, can focus on objects or people at longer distances without losing a quality frame.

O3 Pro

With your new O3 Pro transmission technology, the camera's video transmitter emits a Full HD signal 1080p at 60fps to remote monitors up to a distance of 6,000 meters. Being compatible with the frequencies 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz, the Ronin 4D incorporates familiarity with DFS frequencies, improving file transmission even in a space lacking coverage and questionable Wi-Fi.

As to monitors, the Ronin 4D prioritizes 1,500 nits and 7 inches, integrated into your wireless video receiver. By having a gyroscopic sensor, the operator can manipulate the camera remotely and with maximum comfort. This can also be connected to the steering wheels DJI Master Wheels, the DJI Force Pro or the new Follow Focus three channels.

Battery issue

The DJI Ronin 4D presents three types storage: USB SSD, CFexpress Type-B card and 1TB PROSSD. Emulating its sisters Ronin 2 and Inspire 2, the Ronin 4D uses a TB50 smart battery, reaching 2 and a half hours of recording constantly, also allowing it to shoot in extreme weather situations.

Availability

The DJI Ronin 4D 6K will be available this December. On the contrary, his version 8K has no official date, just a simple “later.”

Let's hope this forward doesn't involve 2023.
